We run this programme with the Ministry of Justice.

We are responsible for looking after your information.

What information we collect

  • your name or a participant ID
  • basic details such as age or gender
  • answers you give in questionnaires
  • information about health or wellbeing you choose to share
  • information about how you use the programme

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

  • run the programme properly
  • understand what works and what does not
  • improve health and wellbeing support
  • report results without identifying you

What we do not use it for

Your information:

  • does not affect your sentence, parole, or privileges
  • is not used for discipline
  • is not used by prison staff to make decisions about you

Do you have to take part?

No. Taking part is your choice.

You can stop at any time.

This will not affect you.

Who can see your information

  • the Think Through Nutrition team
  • approved researchers
  • organisations checking the programme

Everyone must keep your information secure.

Your information is stored securely.

Only people who need it for their job can see it.

Your rights

You can:

  • ask what information we hold about you
  • ask for mistakes to be corrected
  • ask for your information to be deleted, where possible
  • stop taking part at any time

If something goes wrong

If there is a data breach, we must take action.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
